1. Pick Your Paper

Picking your paper is one of the most important parts of making homemade Christmas cards. You can choose a simple ivory paper, or opt for something a bit more festive. There will be so many options at your local craft store. Pick whatever paper is calling your name!

2. Write a Personalised Message

The personalised message is what makes your homemade Christmas card so special. In the card, you should write all the things that you love about the recipient. Wish them well for the new year ahead and send them many Christmas blessings. Your message should be as personal and kind as possible. Don’t be afraid to express your true feelings, it is Christmas after all!

3. Decorate

Now it’s time for the fun part! Decorate your homemade Christmas cards with a variety of fun Christmas pictures, colours, and sparkles. Let your creativity go wild! There are no rules here, just have fun and decorate your heart away.

4. Send it Off

Now, it’s time to send your letters to all your friends and family. Pull out the address book or hand deliver them to their door. Your Christmas cards are ready to be enjoyed and treasured!

That’s how to wow your nearest and dearest with a beautiful homemade Christmas card. Next, we’re going to give you some tips and tricks for getting a personalised Santa letter

How to Get a Personalised Letter from Santa

Santa Letter

Santa loves receiving letters from children all over the world. Santa reads every single card he gets! He sits by his fire each night and goes through them individually. Santa likes to read about what the children want for Christmas, what their favourite hobbies are, what good deeds they have done this year. Reading letters is one of Santa’s favourite pastimes!

In fact, he loves it so much he sends a personalised Santa letter back! Yep, you heard that right! Santa will hand deliver a Christmas card back to every child that sends him one. The personalised Santa letter comes directly from the North Pole, all the way to your doorstep.

But first, you’ll need to send Santa a letter to get one in return! We’re going to show you how to make the perfect homemade Santa letter, so you’re guaranteed to get a personalised letter from Santa in return…

What You’ll Need

  • Paper.
  • Colourful gel pens.
  • Christmas decorations and crafts.

1. Pick Your Paper

First, you’ll need to find some high quality paper to write on. We recommend white or ivory letter paper. Letter paper is a little bit denser than ordinary paper, this makes it more durable and formal. You can even purchase letter paper and envelopes with Christmas illustrations. Or, just use the same paper you used for your homemade Christmas cards! Whatever you choose, Santa is sure to love it!

2. Write a Special Message

The most important part of a letter is the special message inside! Start with introducing yourself, then ask Santa how he is, remind him that you’ve been very good, and finally, ask Santa nicely for presents. You can even ask how Mrs.Claus and the reindeer are doing, what his favourite food is, what he likes to do on the weekend, or anything else you’re curious about. Finish your letter by expressing your gratitude for Santa and all the amazing things he does!

It’s important to not just ask Santa for presents. Santa doesn’t like it when children just talk about presents in their Santa letter. He wants to know about you and have a conversation with you. Treat the Santa letter as an opportunity for you to get to know Santa better (and vice versa). This is far more polite and considerate. Of course Santa wants to know what you want for Christmas, but you shouldn’t be too overbearing about it.

3. Decorate

Decorate your letter with Christmas sparkles, glitter, pictures, and patterns. Be as creative as possible! Santa wants to see your personality shine through your letter.

4. Send it Off

Now it’s time to send the letter off to the North Pole. Find a reputable delivery service that will send the letter safely and securely. We recommend double checking when the last posting date is (usually it’s around 10th December). If you miss this date, Santa may not have time to reply to you!

5. Wait for a Reply

Once you’ve sent your letter off you need to wait for a reply! Santa usually replies within a couple of days. It’s always such a fun surprise to see what Santa has to say in your special letter!
